You may have seen the old Lowe Mill water tower from the Parkway without even realizing that it pinpoints what LM’s website calls the “largest privately-owned arts facility in the United States.”

Even Lowe Mill’s location is a bit quirky to Huntsville. It’s tucked away on 2211 Seminole Drive, away from the usual paths you may take.

Lowe Mill is housed in an old cotton mill that was converted into a huge arts and entertainment venue with rows of studios and shops.

Unique Artistic Variety

Whether you’re into the culinary arts or the fine arts, Lowe Mill has it! There are around 148 studios housed in the 3-storied, red brick facility.  More than 200 creatives make, teach, and perform—all to satisfy our communities’ craving for the arts. Not just another fast-food trough, Lowe Mill has a host of eateries that serves colorful and inventive foods.

There seems to be something scheduled year-round, and whoever runs their web site does a terrific job in updating their calendar.

Lowe Mill has an interesting Halloween weekend  lineup of events such as the Great Pumpkin Carve contest. Lowe Mill guests can vote on their favorite pumpkin. We’ve got so much creativity in our town that I can hardly wait to see what’s carved!  The Most Hallowed Halloween Party sounds positively goul-icious!  And those two events are just for the grown-ups! Denise Onwere of Studio 203 is inviting the littles to her studio for pumpkin painting.  

Lowe Mill Farmer's Market

The Lowe Mill hosts a Farmer’s Market from mid-May to mid-October on Saturdays, if the “boo!” isn’t for you.
