When is the Best Time to Buy a New Home in Alabama?

When is the best time to buy a new home? Everybody's situation is different, your situation may not allow you to time the market but if you are in that position to do so, the best times in Alabama are coming up!

Based on data that's come out from Attom Data Solutions, they’ve analyzed 39.7 million data points that suggest October is the best month of the year nationwide to buy a home as buyer demand starts to fade and sellers become more flexible. October is the best month of the year nationwide, but in Alabama the best month to buy historically is in December.

Best Days to Buy a Home

October is the best month of the year nationwide but what are the best days of the year? According to Attom Data, those all come in the fall and winter months. The first one is right after Thanksgiving on November 24th, December 5th between Thanksgiving and Christmas, December 19th leading right up to Christmas Day, and then right December 26th right after Christmas Day. I personally remember some of my best sales as a company leading up to that last week after Christmas because so many people are visiting or having people stay at their homes, they decide they might be needing a little bit more space for the next Christmas party. You’ll also have a great opportunity on January 9th, right after the first of the year.

Those are the best days to buy a home and savvy buyers who can time the market will benefit.

Worst Days to Buy a Home

The worst month of the year happens to be in May, which makes sense. There’s a lot of demand leading into the spring buying season and into the summer season. There are also a lot of people contracting in May so they close over the summer months.
