Madison, Alabama resident Tina Jones has always loved to decorate for the holidays. Growing up, she remembers helping her mother put out decorations for the holidays and has continued to enjoy this yearly tradition ever since. This Rocket City local now has a home off of Mill Road in Madison that she enjoys decorating, especially for Halloween and Christmas.
Christmas is her favorite time to decorate and she puts up three main trees in her home. Along with a number of other special decorations like her Christmas dining room table and miniature holiday village. The Christmas china on her tables was handed down to her by her grandmother, and each piece holds a special memory.
The entry way Christmas tree greets you right as you walk in the front door and sports a traditional red and green decor. The ornaments included sparkly reindeer and festive plaid ribbon. All of the trees have their own handmade bow at the top.
Tina and her husband, Butch, purchased their home in 2010. Tina set to work hand-making a number of the decorations around the home. Everything from the holiday garland that goes up the stairwell to bows and wreathes, she had a hand in making. As her preferences change or the decorations wear out, she will add more holiday decor and redo new decor pieces in different colors. Her holiday home decoration is constantly evolving each year.
Under her trees surrounding the fireplace, there are little woodland creatures that create a cozy feel. All of the different rooms in the house have their own style of decor, while still flowing from one room to the next seamlessly.
"My favorite decor is in the back room, it makes me the happiest. It reminds me of childhood and what Christmas is like for children", she said with a big smile when asked what were her favorite of all of the decorations.
Tina is a northern Alabama native, and originally from the Ardmore area. She moved to Madison years ago and has seen a lot of change. She says especially in the past 10 years there has been a lot of change and growth in Madison. She's worked in real estate since 2005 and been a Real Estate Agent at Matt Curtis Real Estate, Inc. since 2015. She feels her love of decorating helps her to stage client homes when she's helping them through the listing process.
All of her holiday decor pieces have been lovingly collected over the years and crafted together to create a festive holiday space for their family.
She is already looking forward to what new items she can add to her holiday decor for Halloween and Christmas next year.
