Big Spring Park is in the heart of downtown Huntsville, Alabama, and has played a vital role in the city's history. It once was the original water source that the city was built around and served as an economic waterway. In modern times, is a beautiful green space in the center of municipal buildings that is a delightful park for all ages.

Earlier in 2017, Big Spring Park under went an extensive $2 million overhaul, to refresh the space, clear out old trees, and replace walking paths. It reopened for residents to use for in Summer 2017 and is also home to many ducks, geese, and koi fish.

This Fall the colors in Big Spring Park are vibrant and accent all of the city buildings surrounding the park area. Rocket City locals and visitors can traverse the many walking paths around the edges of the lake and enjoy the added water features from the recent renovation. The park is often used for local events because of its historic significance and convenient location.

Starting on November 23rd, 2017 and running from dusk until midnight, Big Spring Park is home to "Tinsel Trail", a festive collection of over 200 decorated trees.
